You Don’t Know How Lucky You Are

You clench your fingers into angry fists as she stands in front of you smiling. How is this happy news? She is settling for him and you know it, the tiny diamond ring catches the light in all the right angles, every facet blinding you. You’d had her months ago, when she was desperate and broken, tape and glue she’d called you. She was your glue, Jane Rizzoli was the glue holding you together and she was leaving. You assume that Casey was a better brand of tape.

Don’t ask where I go to now

Jane was dreading this day for a month. But it was there now. She was about to move out. Most of her stuff was already packed away in her car and she was just packing another suitcase with some trousers and shirts. The rest of her clothing she didn’t need immediately were stuffed into trash bags and put away into the guestroom for her to pick up at a later date. When she closed the suitcase she looked around the bedroom she and Maura had shared for the last 10 years. She couldn’t believe that everything they had, everything they were ended so quickly. They tried couple therapy for the last month but it just wasn’t working for them. So Jane decided to move out. Normally she wasn’t someone to give up that easily but she felt as if Maura didn’t really care all that much about fixing their marriage and if only one of them was in it, it wouldn’t work. Although she knew that it was probably the best solution she worried about their 4-year-old son Gavin. She didn’t know how he would react to her not being there and she knew that it was going to kill her not being with him every day. She never wanted this for her son. She wanted to make her son’s life as perfect as possible. Everything should be fun and games for him. But now all these wishes were falling apart.

Separation

Blog mod (M2) note: Didn’t realize this had actually been submitted a couple of days ago. Apologize wholeheartedly for the delay in posting.

_________________________

One second ago, you’d never been closer to her. She’d seen you at your weakest, most timid, most afraid. She’d screamed at you, ordered you around, forced your hand. She’d nearly cried in front of you, and you’d done the same. She’d begged you, held you. Believed in you. Trusted you. You’d done what she asked and she’d grabbed your hand, just for a second.

You had saved him. Together. Connection.

rizzoliandislesawards asked: You’ve been nominated for the Rizzoli and Isles Blog Awards in the category: favorite overall blog, congratulations!

Oh my, we’re absolutely flattered!

But how could we possibly take the credit? This blog is only awesome because of people who submit their stories to us. :-)

Thanks for the nomination, fandom!

Anonymous asked: I know you guys like being anonymous (and I completely understand that) but could you possibly sign your messages with your initials just so we have an idea of who's posting what. Sorry if that's a dumb question lol. I love what you guys are doing though! Keep up the great work! :D

Sure - we’ll sign M1 and M2 when answering questions and such.

I’m M2 (the one who answered the last ask) and M1 is on hiatus for a few weeks.

Anonymous asked: have you guys ever thought about announcing the theme on a thursday or friday so that people can have the weekends to work on them? or maybe extending the time frame to a week and a half or two weeks? i;m sure more people would do the contest if they had more time. just a thought

Ha - the joke’s on you because the real challenge all along here has been balancing real life with fangirl life.

(I’m joking, of course. ;-) )

The other moderator and I actually are open to a whole lot of ideas to increase participation in the challenge, but we really don’t prefer to be flexible on two things: anonymity and using a poll to vote (if/when we return to it). We truly think you can get a better, more objective reading experience when you don’t know (at least for sure) who’s written the entry. Let’s be honest here - readers do tend to place importance and certain expectations if the author is known beforehand, and we all know it (even if some don’t admit it). We hope that part of the fun since anonymous submissions began has been trying to guess who wrote it and finding out at the end of the week whether or not you were right. As for the poll - well, everyone essentially knows why already. :-)

But I digress.

The other moderator is going to take a break for a few weeks because of real life responsibilities, so let’s play around for a bit and see what happens.

While we have currently have a list of themes we choose from, feel free to send us more (we might even have it on the list already!). We like receiving your ideas.

So Mod #2 signing off until later in the week when it’s time to post a theme (I’ll shoot for Wednesday/Thursday).
